Event Description:
Windows: Key To Energy Savings And Comfort
A home's windows not only let in natural light and beautiful views, they work to keep your customer's living space healthy and comfortable. Did you know that that windows can account for up to 50 percent of the heating and cooling energy consumed in a home? This session will guide you on a journey to learn all the details, including designs for energy when it comes to glass, frames and exterior finishes. Making the right choices can save energy and money for your customers year-round. Instructor: Jason Oaks, Building Products, Inc.

It's Over My Head: Roofing 101
Roof systems do so much more than keep your homes dry, they provide ventilation, block the wind and keep out unwanted critters like mice and squirrels. It's critical to understand proper construction and how components such as leak barriers, underlayment, shingles, flashing, ventilators, flashing and sealant all work together, ultimately providing shelter for your customers. Outside of asphalt shingles, we'll also explore materials like slate, shakes, metal, clay and synthetic materials. Instructor: Jason Oaks, Building Products, Inc.

Sustainable Design For Kitchens And Baths
Green has entered the mainstream! Seven out of ten Americans are searching for environment-friendly products: our planet's resources are finite. By choosing more efficient, ecological fixtures and following sustainable building and product design programs, we can help our building and remodeling customers have a positive impact on this global issue. Even better, they don't have to sacrifice their lifestyle expectations, product performance or aesthetics. Instructor: Lisa Skari, Kohler Company
