Event Description:

Ventilation Concepts and Troubleshooting
Less than 10% of existing homes are properly ventilated. Proper air flow within an attic space is critical to a healthy home. Learn about the mechanics of properly ventilating to avoid moisture related problems including toxic mold and mildew. This course will also cover how to properly size a ventilation system covers, the Dos / Don'ts of your intake, exhaust, soffit design and more! Instructor: Jason Oaks, Building Products, Inc.

Decks: Built for Fun, Meant to Last
 A deck is a gathering place for fun and can add value to your client's home. These extensions of their home take living outdoors. It is important to provide a long lasting product that can withstand all the harsh realities of Midwest weather. You will learn about footing options, products such as steel, wood and treated engineered wood as well as different installation and construction processes involved with each.

High Performance Homes 
Not all homes are built alike.  But they all can provide a safe, healthy and energy efficient solution to home comfort. During class you will receive the tools and best practices on how to grow high performance building trends, grow your company and assure a profitable build ? in any size home

  • All classes are submitted to the MN Department of Labor & Industry for residential builders, remodelers, roofers, and building officials continuing education credit (CEU).
  • Our classes are taught by qualified instructors.
  • Each 7-hour session includes at least 1 hour for the energy requirement.
  • Deadline for registration: January 27, 2020

Approval and Credits These courses have been approved by the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry for 7.0 credits of residential contractor continuing education (referenced above) satisfying requirements for building contractor, residential remodeling or residential roofing for re-licensure. This includes the required one hour of energy (for all contractors). Classes are pending approval for North Dakota Professional Builder credits through the North Dakota Association of Builders.
